Description:
The sculpture interprets the biblical episode of Judith and Holofernes in an anti-heroic way. The figure of Judith is depicted after having killed Holofernes for the salvation of her people: even if this will make her a heroine, she will forever carry the weight of the terrible act with her. The sharp and incomplete human forms, the lively chromatic contrast of the flesh covered in gold, the unstable play of the reticular and apparently precarious ribs that design the structure of the work build a dramatic and unresolved tension. The work received the special mention of the sculpture section of the Municipality of Sarezzo Art Award 2025 edition.
